I know its very powerful but I hear its an anti - tank rifle, how can it be that powerful, I doubt it can take down a tank in a couple of hits.

How about sending a round straight down the barrel wedging between the tank round about to fire and the barrel. Would the barrel explode when the round is fired?

YES I KNOW HOW IT CAN
ALL U HAVE TO DO IS HAVE THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE TANK'S INTERIOR
U SHOOT BETWEEN THE TURRET AND THE MAIN BODY WHERE THE AMMO IS KEPT
THEN BOOOOOOOOOM

It depends what kind of cartridge. A Barrett .50 will impart enough energy to penetrate the engine block of a car. Think about that. There are parts of a tank that are less armored than others...and in order to be assessed a "mission kill" you would have to destroy its ability to do its job, not necessarily to blow it into a million pieces. This could be separating the treads, killing one or more of the crew, destroying the optics...

It also is going to depend on what kind of tank. Most APC's will afford decent protection from RPGs and 7.62 AK-47 fire, but won't stop a .50 sniper rifle.

Maybe tanks in WW2 but .50 cal rounds would just bounce off or at the most just dent the armor of modern day tanks.

If your a really really good shot though you could jam some of its parts. Like shoot off a part of its treads.
