...educated guess? He's a shepherd/sheltie mix. I think he has more of a shepherd in him, but who knows. We rescued him, so I'm not completely sure. He was about 12-14lbs at 8 weeks....Any guesses how big he will get?

His paws are not huge, but someone told me that that's not always an accurate measure.
We had a neighbor w/ a chihuahua/dalmation mix...so anything is possible I guess.

Since he has Shepherd in him, he may be pretty big. My roomie used to have a male GS, and he weighed a little over 90 lbs.

But my fiance's brother had a sheltie mix, and he was a little guy.

But the paws are a good way to find out on accuracey for the size of the dog.

With shelties, you can get an 18 inch, 50 lb dog out of a 14.5 inch, 20 lb female and a 15 inch, 22 lb male. You can also get a 12 inch, 15 lb dog out of the exact same litter. I've seen that with my own eyes. My guess is you will find yourself with a 19 inch dog weighing between 40-55 lbs. Would love to see a picture of your pup.

ADDED: To Joanie- there is a documented case of a rottie b*tch lying down to breed with a chihuahua dog, and conceiving puppies, as well as other mismatched sized matings. If the dogs are hormonally driven to breed, they will find a way.

paws aren't always the most accurate measure, but one of the only things you can go by with a mix like that, could be anywhere from 40-80 lbs. my american bulldog/shepherd mix was about that size as a pup, he's about 65 lbs now.
