How big of a fish can be caught on 6 lb test line?

I just put on berkeley triline maxx line, 6 lb test. I was wondering if that would be able to handle bass, trout, and kokanee (not the very big kokanee) that would be found in lakes. I had 12lb test line on but that line is way too thick to be fishing for bass and trout and kokanee in a fairly small lake. Is 6 lb test line good? please help
