How big of a bike should my first bike be?

I'm a big boy, 6' 3" probably 245. I'm taking a basic riding course but I don't want to go looking for a bike that'd be too much for me.

I would recommend something between 250 and 400. You will soon tire of it and then get something bigger. The important thing is to LEARN on something you can handle. I would imagine you could probably bench press your starter bike, but trust me on this; experience is learned over time. When you do make the switch to a larger, heavier bike, take your time and be safe. Road Rash is very painful for a long time. Good Luck
