How big is your backlog?

You can post your lists too, if you'd like. Keep in mind that this is just for fun, as a 6 episode OVA creates a smaller backlog than 200 episodes of Bleach.

Manageable, but still too big.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order, I have:

Most of Turn A Gundam
PlanetES
Legend of the Galactic Heroes Gaiden (why do I hesitate? Am I reluctant to actually finish all of it and have it be over?)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes movies
Most of Heroic Age
Spice & Wolf (about to try this)
Gintama (will try while it's still our anime of the month)
Most of Baccano
Big Windup
Captain Harlock (1978)
Most of Galaxy Express 999
D. Gray Man
Darker Than Black beyond episode 2
Touch
Most of FMA Brotherhood (what the hell, I STILL need to get on this and I need to buckle down and do it quickly)
Inu-Yasha: The Final Act (ditto! Gah!)
El Cazador De La Bruja
Gun Frontier
Fist of the North Star
Wings of Honnemaise
Red Garden
Five Star Stories
Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Kurokami
Patlabor
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Time of Eve
Murder Princess
Mushi-Shi
Ergo Proxy
Most of Eureka 7
Most of Nana
Roughly half of Honey & Clover
Gankutsuou
Gungrave
Area 88
Summer Wars (I want to see it, so SOMEONE LICENSE THIS!)
Kara no Kyoukai / The Garden of Sinners (ditto!)
Beast Player Erin
Casshern Sins
Most of Soul Eater
Most of Sgt. Frog
Stearaboy
Metropolis
Phoenix
Gakuen Alice
Skip Beat

Mind you, that's all unseen anime I already know I probably want to try. It's probably not even exhausive.

You know what, my vote was wrong. It's too damned big. I've watched hundreRAB of anime and it's still too damn big. I could dig and keep going. But I'm going to make a huge dent in this in 2010...probably. Unless the 2010 seasons really kick it up a notch.

I try not to think about it. Currently at 150 and going up faster than it goes down.

I'm guessing by backlog you mean series you plan to watch but haven't yet..Mines pretty small...& some of the names I can't remebr...so I'll have to look em up & post later..but yea, I never have very big backlogs these days...I've seen most of the stuff I'm interested in.

I guess you'd call my backlog manageable... I have all but the first episodes of Trigun and Basilisk to finish (bought both but they're just sitting there... ). I also have a season of DBZ to watch, but I already saw it on CN so no rush there.

Manga wise I'm a little better. I have 15 volumes of Kenshin to get through and most of Vampire Knight. Thing is that every manga I have but Kenshin is packed away because I thought we were moving.

Hm, this is probably going to give me a headache trying to figure out.

Series I'm in the miRABt of but behind on:

- One Piece: dub (I'm somewhere in the Apis arc) and sub (420ish I think)
- Monster: I'm sitting at episode 4
- Naruto Shippuden: I'm on episode 55
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: I'm on episode 2
- Rideback: I made it through 3 or 4 episodes
- Gundam SEED Desiny: I've been on episode 26 for about 3 years now
- Karas: I've had volume 2 for ages and haven't watched it
- Spiral: I'm about half-way through, have been for a good 4 years or so

Series I've been meaning to watch:

- Romeo x Juliet
- Gankutsuou
- Fate/Stay Night
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Well, really pretty much any Gundam outside of what I've seen (G, SEED, 00)
- Slayers
- Baccano
- Beck
- D.Gray-Man
- Hunter x Hunter
- Fullmetal Panic
- Prince of Tennis
- Samurai 7
- Sgt. Frog
- Pumpkin Scissors
- Record of Lodoss War
- Gintama
- Inuyasha: Final Act
- Skip Beat
- FLCL (and with FUNi's rescue, I might just do that)
- Sword of the Stranger
- Voices of a Distant Star
- Spice & Wolf
- Black Butler (Juu just told me about this so it's next on my list)
- Nodame Cantibile

I'm sure there are more, but those are just off the top of my head and that's bad enough as is. And that's not even touching the manga. Yikes.

Damn, I don't even know. I've got boxsets that I haven't even started watching yet. I keep track in my cell phone of shows I have to watch but that list keeps getting bigger.

Not to mention, there's like 20 shows on Crunchyroll I have yet to watch/finish.

Also, I've got a lot of manga to read too.

Actually, i only have to finish Legend of Galactic Heroes (its long), otherwise im all caught up on the anime front.

Manga-wise ive either already read or am completely caught up on every manga i can possibly be interested in (that i know of), not including the ones i stopped reading cause i dint like them of course.

My backlog is a weird collection because I don't remeraber how many series I have not finished over the years and only remeraber about them through random events. This thread just reminded me to finish Vandread, a series I started watching in middle school. Currently, I'm a 22-year-old grad student so that shows how bad my backlog is. I'll go through the highlights.

Vandread
Ergo Proxy
Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig
Claymore
Desert Punk
Hare+Guu
RahXephon
Black Blood Brothers
Witcrabroadlade
Fafner
Berserk
Monster
Heat Guy J
GTO
Pumpkin Scissors
Scrapped Princess
Sgt. Frog
Baki the Grappler
CANAAN
Fruits Basket
Hell Girl
Mnemosyne
Serial Experiments Lain

The deeper you go into the fandom, the harder it is to fully catch up.

It's threaRAB like this that make me realize I'm not that big on anime. So far, the shows I've been catching up on are:

Baccano!
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (and Kai once a US release ever happens)
Monster
FMA: Brotherhood

And some stuff I want to watch:

Gankutsuou
Serial Experiments Lain

I don't have one.

I'm not one to buy a series and then take forever watching/reading it. If I purchase a graphic novel or DVD box set, I'm going to read/watch it before I make any further purchases.

I only count stuff as a DVD backlog, beyond that, no such exists:

- Aria the Natural (ep.14-26)
- Blassreiter (ep.1-12)
- D.Gray-Man (ep.14-26)
- Genshiken 2 (ep.9-12)
- Hajime no Ippo (ep.21-76 + Champion's Road)
- Hayate the Corabat Butler (ep.16-21)
- Honey and Clover (ep.14-24 + R Special Episode)
- Millennium Actress (movie)
- Texhnolyze (ep.1-22)
- Yu Yu Hakusho (ep.57-112)

I don't have a dvd backlog unfortunately. Or rather I only own 2 things on dvd. Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Anyway, I tend to not keep count, but I think I'm in the 20's.

Stuff I've seen
Ghost in the Shell: SAC / 2nd Gig
Cowboy Bebop
Black Lagoon
Samurai Champloo
Rurouni Kenshin
Trigun
Death Note
Hellsing
IGPX
G Gundam
Fullmetal Alchemist
Samurai 7
Yu Yu Hakusho
Rahxephon
Dragon Ball Z / GT
Ronin Warriors
Inuyasha
Vandread
Basilisk
Neon Genesis Evangelion
FLCL

Stuff I need to finish/ catch up on
Hunter x Hunter
Big O
Tales of the Abyss
Hellsing Ultimate
Soul Eater

Stuff I thought about checking out
Baccano
Gankutsuo (sp?)
FMA: Brotherhood
Darker than Black
Devil May Cry

Oh, mercifully my DVD collection is mostly well in hand. It's basically just PlanetES (idle for much too long, it's true), Banner of the Stars, and season 2 of Victorian Romance Emma. Oh, and my 2nd Sgt. Frog box. It's just a matter of getting in the mood for each. Lately I'm in this phase where I like to marathon a batch of episodes, rather than just seeing an episode here and an episode there.

Another part of the "problem" is me rewatching what I already own, but I can't and won't help it. No point having a collection if you never use it, yes?

Let's see:

Hunter x Hunter (skipped around; need to watch OVAs in full)
Shin-Chan(need to catch up)
Trigun (need to finish)
Cowboy bebop (need to finish; And yes I do live under a rock )
Yu Yu Hakusho (still need to finish)

Black Cat (dropped anime, will switch to manga)
case Closed (I'll get there )
Beck (Need to finish)
D Grayman (need to finish)

Law of Ueki (need to finish)
Samurai Champloo (need to finish)
Utawarerumono (need to finish)
Fullmetal Alchemist (need to finish first series and read decent way into manga)
Rurouni Kenshin (need to get through canon and then switch to manga)
Big Windup (need to finish)
Claymore (need to finish and switch to manga)
G Gundam (need to finish)
Mushi-shi (need to finish)
Slayers (Need to get through all four series)

Get backers (need to start)
Gankutsuou (need to finish)
Beck (need to finish)
Flame of Recca (need to start)

Kiba (need to finish)
Wolf's Rain (need to start)
Gundam 00 (need to start)
Gundam Seed (cautious about starting)
Soul Eater (need to finish)
Gun x Sword (need to finish)
Haruhi Suzimiya (need to finish season 1)
Dragon Drive (need to finish)
Genshiken (need to finish)
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5RAB (need to get caught up)
.hack//Legend of the Twilight (need to finish)
.hack//Sign (need to finish)
Baccano (need to start)
Code geass (need to finish)
Heroic Age (need to finish)
School Rurable (need to finish)

These plus three I have put on hold/might drop due to somewhat personal reasons.

Ok, so I'm on V Gundam now. I'm not impressed so far. Like F91 (which I had to try not to fall asleep through), it's a show that seems to only technically be a UC show. I like how they logically extrapolated the timeline regarding the evolution of the Gundam with the mass production parts, though.

Anyway, after V, I'm going straight to G Gundam, which I never finished the first time around. Then, I'm going to my third viewing of Gundam Wing (), my second viewing of Gundam X, followed by Turn A Gundam, which I never finished due to boredom.

Having finished Gundam entirely, I'll then go to Macross. I will probably go in chronological order, like I did with Gundam. It was kind of fun doing that with Gundam, because I got to see the slow rise of the Titans, followed by the Haman Karn/Char Aznable schism. With Macross, I'll be able to see the rise of the Zentradi.
