How bad are the blindspots in the Toyota FJ cruiser? ?

I'm thinking about getting an FJ Cruiser.. but I've heard terrible stuff about their increased blindspots and small rear window. I have only driven small sporty cars (My first car was a Mazda MX3 and now I have a Mustang), so this car will be a lot different than what I'm used to. In addition to it being something bigger and different, it would also have the major blindspots. Now I've taken it for a test drive but that was only up and down the highway with a turn into a parking lot to turn around and go back into the dealership.. so no lane changes and no parralel parking. Should I reconsider another car instead? I really like the FJ and I do want to try something new instead of being stuck in the small, sporty car categories. I worry about not being able to adjust my driving behavior to accomodate something bigger and with the smaller sideview mirrors causing bigger blindspots.
 
Our car had blind spots and I put on those little 1 inch eye ball stick on mirrors. They took care of it.
