How are on-line classes different from correspondence classes?

I would prefer to study, at home, on my own schedule, however, I have been unable to find a grant for this.

I have, however, found DOZENS of grants, for on-line classes, such as DeVry.

I just wonder what the difference, if ANY, is between correspondence and on-line?

Any information will be appreciated.
