How and when will you know that you have been awarded financial aid money?

About 3 weeks ago, I was accepted to attend The University of Phoenix. After I was accepted they had me Fill out a FAFSA form (Already had one fill out and completed about a month before I was accepted into the school) so basically all I did was add a school then submit my corrections. A day later I checked my FAFSA status and it said processed. Its not been 3 weeks and still no word about rather I am going to receive it or not. Im worried because I start class on the 13th.
How long does it usually take to be awarded or declined student aid. Also how would I know...Are you emailed, Does the school contact you...?

In spokane I am supposed to receive each check two weeks before it is due. for anything covering tuition, it should be similar for you.

If you are getting loans for off campus housing and other stuff, then it is usually mailed to your address. not sure about the timeline though.
 
You will get an email from FASFA that your application was successful. Contact the school financial aid department. You should also have a school online account where you can check the status of your process.

On the college website you can also email the Financial Aid department.


Make sure you read all your emails from FASFA and your college. Whatever needs to be corrected get it done right away so you have a smooth semester start without payment problems.
