i have enough money to buy this bike from someone and i've been trying to get a motorcycle thats good both on road and off road and i'm 14 years old and don't have alot of money to buy newer bikes but do you think people would laugh if i road this bike on trails and stuff

http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_cl_175_1972.php

this is the '72 i'm looking at the '71 which looks the same as this one
it looks more like a beater upper and janice the points and condensers are the only thing wrong with it that i know of
theres a rail trail close to were i live that is flat and dirt bikes are aloud on it

if it,s really nice, dont ride it on trails...it,s a classic man.....if it,s an old bomber....heck i would beat the crap out of it on the trails...i had one like it that i use to ride on trails...JUST DONT TRY JUMPING THIS THING......thats how mine died...first jump was it,s last...lol

These were considered to be off road bikes, back in the day-BUT they were never built for jumping and only LIGHT -ie riding a dirt trail at minimal speed was ever intended. You can cross over streams with it, as long as the embankments are not that steep, cause the normal tires are not designed to dig thru mud.

If it looks as good as this one, I would not do anything except practice with it in a field for the next 2 years for my street license. Oh and by the way, These bikes have points and condensors in them which means lots of maintenance-cleaning the points, replacing the condensor etc.
