Hotsync locks up

I am having a problem Hotsyncing - it locks up on the desktop when it gets to Intellisync Dates. I always have to do control-alt-delete to get out of it and then cancel on the TX and a soft reset. This has always happened but I never made a big deal about it since whatever I'm syncing to the handheld is always there after the reset. Any suggestions on how I can get Hotsync to stop locking up would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It's probably caused by a corrupted record. If you are syncing to the Palm Desktop while viewing the calendar go to Tools>Options>tools and there you'll see an option to "Fix corrupted records" or a similar command button. Then try again.

If that doesn't fix it - export all of the records from the Calendar (this is applicable to non-Palm Desktop software as well) and then delete all of the calendar records. Hot sync once to purge the records from both the handheld and the desktop.

Then reimport the records to the desktop and sync. 99.9% of the time this will clear it.

To export the records, while viewing the calendar, go to File Menu, and choose Export and then be certain to select the "all" option at the bottom of the option window/file location that pops up.

Be comfortable with this export/import process - it's very straight forward - so that when you delete all of your records you know that they exist in the exported file.

Then advise back.

Thanks Moose Man but it didn't work. I tried fixing any corrupt records but it says there are no corrupt files. I also tried exporting and reimporting twice but it still locks up when it gets to "synchronizing intellisync dates." Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Go to the settings in Intellisync and have the desktop overwrite the handheld for the next sync.

Why are you using Intellisync? It's not native to the TX so are you syncing to something other than the Palm desktop?

If this doesn't work - copy the hotsync log to a post and let me see where it's stopping.

I have no idea how I got Intellisync. Palm desktop is the only program I sync to. When I try to change the settings for Intellisync it tells me that no settings are available for Intellisync conduit. Do you know how I can get rid of this Intellisync stuff? Under my conduits I have Intellisync dates, memos, address and to do - I'd like to get rid of them all as this is probably what's causing my problem.

I'd suggest unistalling the Intellisync software and then reinstall the Palm Desktop software that came with your TX.

Then set the hotsync conduit to Desktop Overwrites the Handheld for the PIM applications on the first sync. This should avoid any potential for duplicates that might be caused by the new conduit manager.

Then advise.

Intellisync could have been a carry over from some other program such as a label writer or other similar program that when you installed the Palm desktop it just allowed it to manage the TX?
