Hotsync freezes Palm T|X

Most of the times I try to Hotsync my T|X, it won't finish sucessfully. Sometimes it times out, sometimes it freezes (need to reset the Palm and terminate HotSync Manager). :(
The Palm shows "Synchronizing MMNotify", and Windows shows "Backing up MMCache1" or similar. I've disabled most conduits, including Addit.

Does anyone have a clue?

What are these MM* files? Can I safely delete them?
 
MM files are related to Versamail. It's the old name for the program called Multi-Mail. Doubt you can delete them as they should be in ROM. Turn off that conduit and see what happens.

Purge older emails etc - is my only other suggestions.
 
Thanks for the information. I disabled the VersaMail conduit, but the problem persists. It happens while "Backing up", and I don't want to disable the Backup conduit. I tried to remove all my accounts in VersaMail, since I don't really use it, but it wouldn't let me. There must be at least one active account.
How can I make my Palm "forget about" VersaMail altogether?
