Hot rumor: The Nokia N8 with Symbian^3

Satio was so so, weak flash, I agree, but have you used pixon12? I sold my canon 5mp camera for pixon12, the best camera phone, no other phone can beat the images produced by pixon12 in the market as of now and the phone is pretty light and sleek, the only let down is that it's not a smartphone.
 
I would have bought this Nokia N8 if it has qwerty keyboard like N900 or N97. But now after using physical keyboard i am spoiled.

The you tube ads are very misleading. In video they are showing "NM for social networks" as a facebook app but today they announced they will halt work on that app and pull it off from betalabs.
 
Demati, whether its true or not, I don't know, but the OP of the twitter thread on the E7 claimed it has a snapdragon. Not sure how much that really matters though.
 
Oh, I forgot to include that I heard a few days ago that the next generation browser that will be a part of Symbian^3 looks a bit promising. Hopefully, I'll find out soon...

I'm not saying I wouldn't like a lens cover, it's just the current design seems to nit be able to fit one comfortably. That is the price nokia has to pay for thinness.

I think the bigger issue is still the battery, abd I hope it's 1500 mah at least. This phone is as wide as an iPhone, no way they can't fit that.

You get to decide! Everyone has different tastes. I personally think the windows phone 7 OS is minimalistic, beautiful and ever since I saw the interface on the zune HD I loved it. In contrast, you can find people who think it's tacky and cluttered. If you like it, that's all that matters.
 
Nokia has never gotten along proper with Qualcomm, there's less than a snowballs chance in hell, that they will use their hardware. While it might be a clocked up OMAP chip to 1GHz, it ain't gonna be a Snapdragon - and I'm happy about that.

Maybe people will quit all the buzzword'ing and actually pay attention to the hardware platform that's being used instead of exploding with fits of joy over a "1 GHz" proc when they know nothing about what it actually means for their usage.
 
There's supposed to be some new stuff in ^3 that can carryover to ^4, but it's not easy to tell. QT is "available" (not required) in ^3, so it's not really clear if the new stuff requires QT or not.

Personally, if Nokia shipped a phone with ^3 and QT, I'd steer far clear. The combination of S60 + QT just screams RAM killer, and Nokia is notoriously stingy on the RAM.
 
That's a good rule of thumb, but by that measure the E71 should be perfect and the E75 should juuuust be turning into a stable, bug free phone. Although true when it comes to Nokia phones, it's sort of BS. Customers aren't beta testers.

Particularly when it comes to E series devices for business users, that strategy is going to hurt Nokia. Tech geeks and phone aficionados may be willing to be patient with a phone until the problems are worked out, but a business dealing with phone bug issues and crashes will be less than forgiving.

These people need to get work done and they need a business oriented phone to pretty much run great out of the box. Otherwise, they'll drop your device like a hot potato and never look back. It explains all those bad Amazon reviews from former Blackberry and E71 owners.
 
Keep in mind that the NM for Social Networks you see on the N8 in the videos may not be the same as what's in Beta Labs today.

BTW, there is a model of the N8 with a QWERTY keyboard that opens like the N97/N97 Mini. Expect that to be the next Nokia device to be leaked to death
