Hot rumor: The Nokia N8 with Symbian^3

yeah to be honest, i hadnt read that review when i made my post yesterday. i then went and read Eldar's preview and it didnt seem all that encouraging. i guess we will wait and see...glad i went with android for right now though..

Original document published at Unwired, so far not bad not brilliant, only oddities/curiosities:

* 680 Mhz processor, I know Symbian is efficient, but why in earth not 1Ghz processor?

* No AVI/XVID support out of the box (shame!), same old supported codecs since N95.

* Capacitive Stylus (only selected markets), OMG, what for??? (by the way, capacitive stylus is...?)

Oh, Lord. If anything, that makes it even worse.

Now they HAVE to buy Palm for WebOS.

Developer support for Palm's OS is small, but there's none for Meego. It's a huge gamble that they can attract developer attention/interest, and I'm not sure how successful they'll be at it. Without developer support, Meego isn't going to take off.

Adobe just announced AIR for Android.

Because of open door policy, Android and WebOS are not in the position to refuse Flash, although both are heading to supporting HTML5.

Only reason why Flash is not heading to Windows Mobile 7 is Microsoft taking a page out of Apple and going closed doors.

Because developers are supporting it now?

if anything developers would be happy that nokia no longer used a different resolution than winmo and android!

Highly unlikely, from that picture. That is most likely the radio PCB and the lower section is a plastic covered that comes out and houses a flim antenna.

It's really looking like this is going to have a completely sealed and integrated battery. Oh well, I could careless - since it has no physical keyboard, it's a non-starter for me. But it does look nice.

The only way to get a decent, halfway consumer friendly deal on AT&T is to game their system by staying past the expiration of your contract in a "grandfathered" deal, i.e. using data on the older Media Net plan, and using unlocked devices.

BTW, I'm hearing that Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 will only be sold unlocked in the U.S., though AT&T is rumored to get the Mini versions on contract plans.

This summer it'll likely be that or the Nexus One for me, I think, or maybe even an E72, despite its myriad issues. I can't wait around until September-December until Nokia decides to bring Symbian 3 or Meego over here.

This will surely have omap 3440 or higher with cortex A8 running at 600mhz or above with 256mb ram and 512 mb rom for sure. I will be surprised to see Omap 4 though. ;) What I dont like about that phone now is that it does not have any led flash to use as video assist light. I want one single power led flash for video along with xenon and yes , a manual lens cover as well .. Why not give the N86's dual leds as well

You mean WiMAX "goodness" as in that technology that absolutely nobody else in the world plans on supporting that will leave Sprint in the dark ages?

Think of it this way, LTE = Blu-Ray WiMAX = HD-DVD
