Hot rumor: The Nokia N8 with Symbian^3

That picture doesn't look to promising. No 3.5 jack that i can see on top, no visible speakers, and looks to be the same home screen like the n97. I'm hoping for a more customizable home screen much like on android's. I want to be able to add single apps/contacts to the home screen not a whole contacts/app bar where i have to add either 4 contacts or 4 apps.

i wonder whether nokia takai is e5-00?

I have paid attention to the hardware platform and I don't see the drawback to a Snapdragon. Don't get me wrong I'll be equally excited if it is an OMAP4 (which can handle 1GHz clock speed). I'd be happy with either but I fail to see the drawback of one over the other.

If anything it is a trade off. The OMAP4 has a lower clock speed and is more efficient per MHz while the Snapdragon has a thinner wafer size (which should yield decent battery life). Otherwise they are both pretty good processors. I would like either and consider neither just a buzzword.

Eseries, yes. E5, maybe but I don't think so. With the new naming convention, the number signifies the range of the device so E5 would suggest a middle of the road Eseries device. Think more E7 or E8 but I've been wrong before.

Eldar is a long time, self-proclaimed Nokia lover. He's unhappy with Nokia's current inability to innovate/catch up with the competition. As are a lot of longtime Nokia users.

It's funny, as long as Eldar's been running Mobile-Review, he's been a big Nokia supporter. But, 6 months of constructive criticism makes him a hater.

And in the N900 'blowup,' Eldar was pretty critical of the N900 from the beginning. If that's why Nokia is pissed at him, well then they can go pound sand. I'd prefer a mobile blogger who calls it like it is, rather than the typical Nokia kiss ***, who constantly painting rainbows and kitty-cats.

I swap batteries too. I have both a desktop charger and a wall charger that charges just the battery. The only time I actually charge my phone via the USB port is if I am transferring a large file.

So being able to swap batteries is a deal breaker for me. Especially if this has the 4" screen, it will be drawing a good amount of power.

My other concern is the way that Nokia seems to be moving away from lens covers for its phones. Is anyone else concerned about the lens getting scratched. Whats the point of having a high end camera, with 12mp, and Zeiss lens, just to let it get scratched???

Time will tell.

I'm wondering if the device was the E7-00 since you saw an 8MP camera with LED while the N8-00 has a 12MP camera with Xenon... :befuddled ?
So far we know that we'll see the N8-00, E7-00, and a MeeGo phone (since the phone that they were going to release was going to be Maemo 6)
Also, I thought that the E7-00 was going to have an HDMI port as well... I'm lost lol. However, thank you for the info, and hope that you keep the relationship intact :2thumbs:

LMFAO, I can't wait to see all of the backpedaling on the non-removable battery.

Shame on Nokia if they've actually sealed up the battery. There are people who actually use these phones to get things done, and need more juice than one battery can deliver.

MR also reviewed the C6, and they didn't have much good to say about it.

It's hard to see how they can rule the roost in budget devices when they've got to compete against... exactly the same players they do in the high end (except Apple).

Symbian^3 homescreen is pretty much identical to N97 with the addition of multiple pages. Only thing I wish changed would be letting widgets have the option of using multiple blocks as an option

With all these hot rumors going round and round, I wish that Nokia would announce something new soon, I dunno how others feel but I'm bored of waiting  Tomorrow is Nokia's MWC Keynote so who knows what we'll get, some say that Nokia will annouce new devices tomorrow and others say that there won't be anything new from Nokia... so blah :p (sorry, I'm tired at 11 p.m). Anyhow, here's the link to tomorrow Event starting at 11:30 CET
