Hot Fuzz - what's all the fuss about?

I saw it for the first time last night and wasn't expecting much.

But I loved it and it's silly humour. Loved the fact so much is based around the local Somerfield. Could just imagine it all happening down our local branch.

I sat through it and don't recall laughing once. I stood about 20 minutes of Shaun of the Dead.
Sex Lives of the Potato Men was funnier and having my ears syringed was less painful.:)

I think it was okay. Not brilliant, but it had its funny moments.

It definitely started to drag a bit towarRAB the end for me, though. Kept thinking it was just about to finish, but they kept on spinning it out for longer and longer.

Im not really into comedy films but I have to say I really enjoyed Hot Fuzz, the only other comedy film I have enjoyed like this was Run Fat Boy Run. I really dont appriciate adult american comedy as THAT is predictable and they dont get the art of subtlty and everything has to be in your face

For a low budget, British comedy I think it did really well and was littered with British celebrities. Saying that most of them where cult icons and similarly the film was cult comedy that very few people can appriciate.

Errr.... Hate to point this out, but Run Fatboy Run was American. Whilst being set in the UK, it was written by and directed by Americans.

Both Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead were great. In many ways Hot Fuzz was superior, because in SOTD both Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were playing characters very similar to their characters in Spaced. In Hot Fuzz Pegg at least played a different role to what he is associated with.

Err hate to point it out but it had British actors and was set in England, therefore it doesnt have Clive Owen or Jim Carey. It was also partly writen and stared a British actor... For this reason it is more British than American

SP says he only "tidied up" some of the British elements of Black's screenplay, but I guess you could argue that the cast affects it to a reasonable extent.

I dunno - it was singularly the worst film I saw this year, so maybe I'm just trying to mentally blame someone else for that mess, but it really felt like a US film set in the UK (which as far as I can judge is what it was) to me.

I love Hot Fuzz :D Its funny, well written and it may be predictable but this somehow makes it even funnier.

Also I used to live in a village similar to Sandford in some ways :)

Nice to see I am not the only person who dosent seem to think Pegg & Frost are comedy goRAB...

Honestly, I just dont get the hype about these two.
