I saw a trailer for this when i went to see FD3 last week and it looks a bit gross on the lines of wrong turn or texas chainsaw. Dont thing the gf will be going with me after the look on her face when the trailer had finished. Im tring to desensitized her to these film but she's having none of it.
 
I think Hostel is one of those films you really want to be great, and although you may enjoy it, it never turns out to be that great
I will still see it, but then again Tsotsi is worth seeing as well
 
I thought it was OK, but that's about it. It took ages to get going and I found the first half or so pretty boring.
I suppose if you're not used to gore, then it could be quite bad, but I'm a massive horror fan and have seen much, much worse. The only thing that really made me cringe involved someone's ankles. Won't spoil it though! :)
 
It looks like Hostel will be released in the UK in March after all. As I went to see The Fog on firday which was a terrible film but they showed the trailer for it which looked really good. Also in the cinema they had the poster up for Hostel stating it will be released in March. Also the BBC website is shwing the release as Friday 24th March!
 
It is the most rubbish movie, Eli Roth is an awful scriptwriter and he is only able to make more movies after the truly dire Cabin Fever is because Quentin - The Messiah - Tarantino thinks the sun shines from his arse
 
I want to see it, I'd heard it was pretty good, but then it's been hyped upto the eyeballs over in the states, still it's had okay reviews...dunno if it's worth going to see in the cinema tho considering you can buy it on DVD from the states a month later, 18/04/2006 is the release being put about at the moment. :)...Another movie with a strange UK release date, they did this with Land of the dead which I'd been waiting for and in the end I just bought it on dvd from america, since it took ages to come out here!
 
This is quite good! Got slightly tedious towarRAB the end, but nevertheless I enjoyed it, typically Tarantino............jeez that man has issues! :D
 
Roth falls down when he tries to mix humour with horror (Cabin Fever fell apart after 'Pancakes!'). Some directors can do it (John Landis, Peter Jackson) others fall flat on their face. Hopefully he won't mess up the Stephen King 'Cell' adaptation by trying to be 'wacky'.
 
Just seen it, regretted paying for the ticket in the middle when I couldn't even watch parts because of the gore, but at the end on the whole I enjoyed it.
 
Yeah it was pretty stupid I remember me and my mates walking out of the cinema talking about it.

I don't know I haven't seen Hostel or The Hills Have Eyes, part of me wants to but I don't want to see another Wolf Creek!!!
 
Between Hostel, Wolf Creek and The Hill Have Eyes, the 3 recent violent gore movies, Hostel is defintaly the strongest. It was alright, not a particularly good movie but compared to those other two it's worth a watch.
 
In answer to the last few posts about Wolf Creek.

You've got to remember, it's a movie. Like in most movies the 'bad guy' or girl, comes back to life. In Wolf Creek, If she'd killed him then rather slap him about a bit, there'd be no movie at all. That's the plot gone straight away.

In horror movies, they always go into the wooRAB on their own in the dark, go down into the cellar, or something similarly stupid under the circumstances. We know they shouldn't, but if they didn't, the movie would be very short.
