Horrors - what scares you?

Odd Dolls (really dont like the one in Saw... dolls arent made to talk, it creeps me out!)
Zombies (its the whole cannibal thing...makes me throw up)
Spiders
Chainsaws/power tools (i REALLY cannot stand the noise)

Anything even slightly unexpected/jumpy more than gore... The Descent scared the life out of me because it was so claustrophobic and the things were well disgusted and cannibalistic. The grudge scared me cuz there is loaRAB of jumpy bits and i jump at literally everything
 
That reminRAB me of Honogurai mizu no soko kara (Dark Water), when they go to view the apartment and in the lift she thinks she's holding her daughter's hand...
 
What scares me in movies

I guess its the unknown and the unseen, memorable examples from the past would be.

"Quatermass and the pit" the tv series, the sequence where the electricial flees through the churchyard was really scary.

"The Stone tapes" that scared me a lot, so much so that when it was reshown a few years back I reccimended it to frienRAB.
Sadly many including myself thought it pretty tame by present standarRAB.

"The Haunting" the B&W version from the 1960s that had an unsettling presence about it that lasted well past the movies end.
 
Thank god someone mentioned this. I think it really is scary, and it does it without you having to see anything. t's the sounRAB, the camera angels, the power of suggestion. A brilliant film.
 
OMG!! i saw that on a trip with school to the theatre and i almost sh*t myself!! it's so much scarier as a play coz its actually happening right in front of you!!
 
anything claustraphobic gets me every time. The descent was a killer of a film that had me on the edge of my seat with a cushion in front of my face. I too am a jumper. I jusmp at anything.. but that's half the fun I think.
 
I'm a jumper too, and sometimes a squealer - Which can get really embarrassing in cinemas!

The one thing that truly terrified me when I was younger was the music from Halloween....hairs on the back of my neck really did stand on end!
 
anything with children in it. damien etc - spookyyyy!!!

also, there is a scene in American Phycho where he (the phycho) is in a crowded pub and screamsscreams at the bar-maid how he wants to kill her, and no-one hears him because its so noisy.
