Horror Film help

I recently saw a trailer on www.hollywood.com for a Japanese Horror/Thriller film, i remeber the trailer mentioning that it was either better or before the Grudge and the Ring, but i go to the same page now, and its gone, and I cannot remember anything else about it... Am i dreaming or does anyone know of a similar film??

Kairo/Pulse? that might be getting trailers shown because the remake is coming out in America.

Or it could have been Audition. But it's not better than Ring imho.

It could also have been Ring 0, the prequel to Ring - Now this I WOULD recommend, it's a very poignant aand powerful film.

I'm sure the actors in it were Japanese.....its not Dark Water, i've seen that. And its not Ring 0. I'm gonna see if this Kairo/Pulse is the one...

it was made before either of them (i think)

The topic starter said 'for a Japanese horror/thriller'. America usually get Asian films a lot later. So far, most of the films mentioned were out more or less around the same time The Eye original came out.
