do you guys think hormonal acne can be cured by accutane?? i feel like my case is hormonal..ive tried spiro and it didnt work! i think accutane is my last resort...

Since I am considering spiro for my daughter (she has already taken accutane), can you tell me how much spiro you took and for how long? Did you also take a bc pill?

I see you are considering spiro for your daughter. Is her acne hormone related. I am interested because I believe my daughter has hormonal acne. She is on hormonal treatment now but not too much change. The hormone doctor says it is a slow process. We are having her hormone levels re-checked to see if her current treatment has helped at all. Her acne is not cystic; just small pimples mostly on her forehead and lower cheek area.

I used accutane for hormonal acne with excellent results many years ago, however, I found that after a year of being off of it, I had to go back on and took it a second time. Now that I am 45 years old and have diminishing estrogen and testosterone levels I recognize that my acne was hormonal in nature and due to an excess of testosterone. Spiro also did not work for me. Accutane is really good for deep cystic acne. Best of luck to you.

CALIGIRL,Spiro is a testerone blocker so did you take 200ms for six months and then you would have great results.
