Hordak.

Who thinks this guy is the most awesomest villain in the MOTU galaxy? Well i do, he's probably better then Skeletor.

Way back when I was young, I never saw She-Ra except for He-Man, but when I first saw Hordak on that He-Man/She-Ra Christmas Special, he was an awesome villain more better than Skeletor especially when he can change into different forms since he's machine-based(I think) & controls the Horde army which was the coolest part:D.

When I saw Hordak's new design in the new He-Man on CN, he looked awesome & frightening:eek: & when he turned out to be Skeletor's master but I'm mad when it was cancelled since we'll never get to see him in action after the King Hiss arc.

Don't know which one is better, but they're both the best designs ever.

Never really knew about Horde Prime until a few years ago. Guess I missed those episodes back in the 80s.

Hordak works even though he shouldn't. Skeletor is a simple concept. Death, with magic and purple. And he's funny, too so bonus points, right? How can you top that by having some guy who can turn into different things and controls an army? On paper it doesn't work.

But in execution, somehow it does. I won't say one is better than the other. They're equal, which is such a strange thing. Both are funny, menacing and driven, just for different reasons. They compliment each other.

She-Ra, on the other hand, just totally kicks He-Man's furry underpants. She rules, he's boring.

I think Hordak works as a villain for simple reason: He's the first cartoon villain to actually SUCCEED and not be stopped totally. (Something I think only Attack of the Killer Tomatoes got away with).

I mean, The Horde started off the show having conquered the ENTIRE PLANET, something Skeletor couldn't do in his dreams. Plus his henchmen were far superior to Skeletor's, Catra and Shadow Weaver most notably.

You definitely make a good point. While Skeletor started off a bit more evil and menacing, they gradually softened him up to be more of a comedic villain. The overall dynamic Hordak brought to She-Ra really changed the tone of the show as compared to He-Man. You had a chance to see how he commanded his Horde forces and dominated the good guys.

One of my favorite episodes is "The Price of Freedom", which shows how the war affected Etheria and its citizens. With She-Ra showing He-Man the struggles the people go through and all of the hardship, it was a really great exhibit of how far the guys at Filmation progressed.
