Hi,

I'm very new to PDA's, actually this is my first one and my husband bought it for me last Thursday....It is a Palm TX. I'm enjoying learning about and using it. But 2 things have me stumped and I was hoping someone could help with my 2 little problems....I probably created for myself.

My first problem is I set up my Versa Mail and it worked (cable to USB port on computer) when I tried it. The next time I tried to use it...it would now work. When I tried to choose cable/USB connection it would not take my selection...and now I can't get to that screen to try to select cable/usb. Can someone help me get my Versa mail set up

I can use Wi-fi (I did something right)....

One more question if you don't mind...

In Photos and Videos I somehow turned on another menu/task bar feature...Between the picture and the lower task bar(where the magnify glass, time, Wi-f... are) I have a strip with the following 1) 4 boxes that shows all the pictures, & videos 2) Lines with dots infront of them. This lists the Pictures, dates & size, 3) Envelope (4)Picture in a file folder to manage albums and (5) Slides for slide show. I would realy love to "hide" this menu/task bar.

But 2 things have me stumped

I never liked Versa Mail :p Anyway, I'll see what i can do to fix step by step.

1) Press home button until you see your list of applications (not the one with the 1,2,3,4 in the top right)

2) Tap "Prefs"

3) Tap Connection

4) Then change to Cradle/Cable.


Oh wait hang on ha ha i think i'm doing something wrong.
When you say it 'worked' when did it work?
Did it work when you pressed "Get" or "Get/Send" button?
Or did it work when you Hotsync'd?

Need to get that straightened out first then we can move to the above steps

Currently i don't think you can hide that bar unfortunately, just had a look at mine and can't find a way to remove it.

THANK YOU so much, you did help! I can receive email! Yes, I was trying to use versa mail while hotsync'd.

I'm using this because it came with the TX and sometimes I have to take copies of emails with me when I go...so I though it would be better if I took them on the TX (I can't misplace or forget them :rolleyes: )

I'm having one more problem...in versa mail it will not allow me to send email when hotsync'd. It defaults to Wi Fi when I try to send....and wont let me choose cable/cradle to send. I went to Panera Breads to make sure WiFi worked so I do have it set up and that is working fine.

Can you suggest another program for receiving & sending email while hotsync'd? Nothing fancy...something solid and reliable!

I know it is my first PDA, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I really do love the TX!!!!!! Music, docs to go, pics/video's, internet....why did I wait so long to ask for one!!!!!
