Hooked my Rockford Fosgate amp up backwards, do RF amp have any form of reverse...

...polarity protection? Well I was using a mirror to read the terminals on my amp while hooking it up in a awkward location on my boat and I hooked the ground and positive wire up backwards. I should have done this before I started drinking out on the water. Big mistake on my part my Rockford bd10000.1 now sounds like i have a bad ground, when i turn it on it has alternator whine and a "heart beat" type sound. Do RF amps have any sort of reverse polarity protection circuit? Is there any component I should investigate? I have read there are sometimes diodes and other protection specific circuits that I might be able to fix.
