hookah lounge and id?

i know *someone* who went to a hookah lounge and was checked for id. they are 17 but 6 months away from being 18 and they let her in. I was wondering if either they arnt that strict about age at this lounge and if *one* should try their luck again at going in or would a fake id be better next time.
 
if your 17 going to a hookah lounge you are becoming a loser faster then most people.....
