An object's weight is 8 N. How much force is required to accelerate it at a rate of 2 m/s^2?

If a projectile is shot straight up at a speed of 10 m/s, what is the total time to return to its starting point?

An object is placed on an inclined plane. The angle of inclination is increased until the force of static friction is overcome the object begins to slip. The final angle of inclination is θ, the coefficient of static friction is μ sub s, and the object's mass is m.

a. Draw a diagram of the situation, just as the object begins to slip. Put in a vector arrow for the weight of the object. Using the symbols you have been given (and any others that are applicable), what is the weight of the object? Put that in the diagram as the weight of the object.

b. Add an arrow for the normal force exerted by the surface. Using your symbols, what is the magnitude of that force? Put that in the diagram.

c. What is the magnitude of the force of static friction?
