As a brand new owner of a 12 ga shotgun, I made the trip to the local gun store to check out some accessories and hunting gear. In there, they had an arsenal of any gun you could ever imagine. When I was looking around, I happened upon several AK47's and other assault rifles. A quick look at the price tag made me wonder two things. Why on earth would you pay $1,000 for an AK, and what on earth would you use it for? Of course I had fun picking it up and looking at it, but what would you use it for besides "badass" value?
I can understand someone wanting to own a gun for self-defense, hunting, or sport, but it made me wonder. Do you or anyone else you know own a gun like this, and what do they use it for? Call me silly, but I'd honestly feel safer shooting someone in self-defense with my 12 ga than an AK. What are the laws on owning guns like this, anyway? Any answers or opinions are greatly appreciated!
