honda shadow spirit c2,dc,vt?

I`m thinking about buying a honda shadow spirit in a few weeks but there`s a few things i don`t understand i know what the 750 means but i don`t know what the c2,dc,or vt means.
and what`s the difference between shaft and chain drive.
