I have a 2005 Honda Shadow 600 VLX Deluxe. Went for a ride one day, got off and when I got back on the battery was dead. I jumped it from a car with the vehicle shut off. It fired up and ran, but horribly. Backfired, wouldn't idle, barely made it the 1.5 miles back home. It sat for a while before I finally ordered a new battery because it was close to the end of the season. After putting in the new battery, it continued to run horribly, won't idle, very hard to start and basically nothing at the low end (first 1/4 of throttle). Did I burn up the regulator/rectifier by jumping it or does this sound more like a carb problem that just kind of happened to coincide?
