Honda Rebel, 2009 Brand New.?

I am thinking about getting an Honda Rebel 2009. Brand New.

I was wondering how often i should change the oil. because i am hearing weird stuff like "Change it every 600 miles until 4000 miles." Also, The Oil Filter Paper..How would i go about changing that? Since the Rebel doesnt have an oil filter.
Or is it not necessary to change the oil paper?? And i can just drain the oil. Put in new oil and be on the go...
 
The 250 Rebel does not have a proper oil filter, so oil changes do need to be more frequent, but 600 miles (1000km) is unnecessarily often except for the original break-in period.

Stick with what the owner's manual says (I believe it says every 4000miles)
