honda prelude igniton timing advance?

I have a 1990 honda prelude, i went to get it somgged and it failed on hydrocarbons and CO,
I also have smoke comming from the tail pipe
from what i know that means the car is misfiring does anyone know what the engine timing should be advanced to in these cars? it was at 9 when i was having the problems
only answcer if you know the answer
