honda owners how to prevent this?

legally if a tow truck came on your property with intent to tow your vehicle illegally for chop shops etc, what can you do to legally stop them? let a dog out? scare them with a gun? anything its your property? i heard about yanking the ecu, etc but this seems like nothing to this.
