I have a possible trade for my car and I'm wondering if it's a good idea and I don't know much about cars. I have an offer to trade my 93 Honda Civic DX with just under 160k miles for a 98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo (4x4) with just over 200k miles. We test drove each others cars today. The Jeep's check engine and gauges lights are on and the temp gauge maxes out. The owner claims it's a gauge error and the engine doesn't run hot. Also the fuel gauge stops at half-tank so you don't know how much you have after that. We live in Michigan so both cars have body rust. On hard turns left or right, it has a click from the front, he said they were U-joints? He says he has the parts to replace them but he just hasn't had time to get it done yet but would before the trade. Should I keep my Honda or trade for the Jeep? He did offer cash with the trade but didn't specify how much.

not a good idea, keep your honda civ... trades are like gamblin you dont know how its goin to turn out for the better or worse so if your car is ok then just play it safe and if the temp guage doesnt work and you run your motor hot one good time then its done for and once you reach the 200k mile on a car your lookin at replacing one thing after another for a while..
