Honda GL500 won't start - was working yesterday!?

I just purchased a Honda Gl500, it was working fine for the first day then the battery died so I had to bump start it a few times... The next day after charging the battery it wouldnt start or bump start - i figured the carbs were dirty so i took them apart, cleaned them and put them on - bike still wouldnt start even after bump starting it a few times to try and get gas in the carbs, i then proceeded to purchase new spark plugs - still wouldnt start, then I cleaned the fuel filter and drained the old gas in there ( it had been sitting awhile) and put new gas in - still wouldnt start.. Ive checked the main fuse and it looks to be intact - i juswt purchased a new battery and am installing it today --- my question is does anyone know what the likely problem could be? I had my friend jump start it with his car and it was really groggy at low RPMs but sounded fine when i revved it, but now even with a car jump start it still wont start..........if anyone knows what my problem could be would greatly appreciate the help!
