Honda express, how to find out if its stolen or not?

hi i both a 1987 honda express moped about a week ago the i didn't know it needed paper work , (pink slip) and the guy i both it from didn't say anything about it, now im just ceriuos, how can i find out that its not stolen, or if it is im i intrable, what are the cons , what should i do
