your power cables could be loose where the connect into the system. If you continue to have trouble have autozone load test your battery and next the alternator. Its free.
I own a 1995 Honda Civic the battery is new and the alternator is still good. I did not drive my car for 2 weeks and the car had no power. I had someone jump me and it worked perfectly but right when I turned the car off it did not have enough power to start. I drove th car around when I had it jumped also. I cleaned the terminals and checked the wires going from and to the battery and they were fine. What else could it be?
ok how new is the battery i hear so many people say this and lo and behold to learn its about a year old or so but remember a Battery even new can go bad due to the weather conditions the battery cell can go bad and which would led to not holding a charge. look get the car started let it idle for a little while then carefully take off the positive wire or battery post with out it touching anything else. now if the car dies well then that's the sign the alternator is not charging the battery. if the car continues run then your looking at another battery. NOTE:::::::::::: very important if your going to do the pull the post ( poor mans battery test) test read the way i wrote and said to do it. DO NOT LET IT GROUND OUT.
I had the same problem in my '88 toyota pickup. Could be that your starter/solenoid is funky, in which case you can just rip it out, take it down to autozone, and have it tested.
