Honda Civic- My key keeps getting stuck!?

I have a Honda Civic,2003 and when I try to open the door, my key always jams and will not move to either side.
When I open the trunk, it's fine.
What is happening? How do I fix it?
I have been putting that graphite powder in it, but it's not helping!

My boyfriend told me that I will have to get a new key that will cost hundreds of dollars, is this true?

Do not use WD-40 especially if this car is anywhere in a winter climate since it will eventually freeze inside the lock, Use a product called PB Blaster since it displaces water and works 100 times better. I did this on my 1997 Accord when it was -5° outside and I got the key to open the lock in a flash.

Alison, keys only cost a couple of bucks at any Lowes hardware store and to much grafite can be a bad thing.take a can of WD-40,insert the little red sprat tube and give the doorlocks a good blast.if that doesn't clear up the problem, remove the door panel, remove the plastic covering the door and spray the locking mechanism itself.
