Here's the scoop... I left my car at my folks for a little over one week while I was on vacation. It wasn't driven, turned on, etc. during that time (I had the keys with me). I just turned the key, turned on the engine, everything normal up to here... The emergency break is off.
I went to put the car in reverse to back it out of the garage, and there was no movement. So I gave it a little gas, and it screeched and moved as if the breaks were engaged. Same thing happened in drive going forward. In neutral it wouldn't budge, again acting like the breaks were engaged. The emergency break is all the way down, as it should be, and I've never had problems like this before.
FYI-- Honda Civic, automatic, 2001 EX.
