1992 Honda Civic EG Si edition.

- Will changing the oil give better performance? Will 10W-40 engine oil be good enough? Or 15W-40?

- I installed a 3 or 4 inch Cannon muffler, just the muffler welded on, no catback etc... just muffler can this decrease power? What is a good size muffler to not lose any power?
 
1. No, motor oil for the most part won't give better performance (at least not a noticeable gain). Although there are claims out there that people have noticed a difference when switching oils. Like those who switched over to Royal Purple have claimed a smoother idle and more horsepower. I'd stick with 5w-30 or 10w-30.

2. It's possible for it to decrease power but mostly it changed nothing besides now it makes a lot of noise. Exhaust SYSTEMS are sold for a reason, the entire system is designed to reduce air restriction in the exhaust, a system is the only way you'll actually gain some power noticeable or not. A muffler alone is just gonna create noise, sure it may be bigger and shiny, but all you did was make a bigger hole at the end instead of freeing up the restrictive factory pipes.
