Honda Civic Buying Question?

A friend has offered me a 2002 honda civic leather luxery edition.
Its interior looks fairly new. It has had its oil changed every 10,000 miles. The only problem I am worrying about is that it has 170000 miles on it. Is this a good deal for $3600?
 
I would agree with the first poster, except there is a possibility your friend used fully synthetic oil, in which case it is perfectly fine to go 10K miles.
 
The 170,000 miles doesn't bother me. I've got two cars over 300k. Run fine. So 170 is nothing.

It's the fact that your friend was a dumbass and only changed the oil every 10,000 miles.

That's three times longer than the average servicing.


Which means he went cheap on servicing, and you can bet he went cheap elsewhere.

Pass on the car. It's going to be a headache before you know it.
