Honda CB500 twin carburetor settings?????

I know abit about bike carbs and the likes, but i'm having abit of trouble with this one.

i can get the bike (cb500) running spot on, when warm...
but once the bike is cold, it doesn't start untill you turn the idle right down by the screw

but then it'll have to be reajusted to make the bike tick over

also, when cold, it won't start from the throttle, it'll only start if you use the choke by itself..

i've cleaned the carb and the jets about 3 or 4 times now, so i'm sure it's not that...


normally with carbs, about 2 and a half turns on the mixture scew does the job, and i just set the idle when the bikes warm, and it's fine

but this bike doesn't want to know...


any help?
 
check around the mounting s look for vacuum leaks, check the compression to see if each cylinder are about equal
