honda car idle problems?

1988 Honda Prelude, Idles great when cold, then when warms up and the idle goes to 1000rpms like it should but when it idles a little longer the idle drops to next to nothing and you can hear in the exhaust pipe that it is sputtering. It won't idle right again until it is cold again.

i would like to fix it but at least i would like to know whats wrong to tell the guy i sell it to.
 
i have ssame problem with my 89 supra, when the engine warms expect the rpms to drop, its 100% normal for them to go from 1500 to 1000 -800 , as long as it doesnt go below like 500 and maintains,
but uh check ur idle control valve mite need cleaning.. search google for how to's, but thats my guess.
