The oil must be added before comp. is installed. If a new comp. it should come with directions. The system must be pulled to a vacuum and tested for leaks before adding refrigerant. The proper amount is determined by using a manifold gauge set to read proper pressures. If oil is incorrectly added you could damage the compressor. You don't know what you are doing so get a book and read the proper method.
