We have an old homestead well on our property that has up to 10 feet of water in it and when it runs low we leave it for a few hours and the water seeps back through the walls back up to 10 feet. However, this year our well has 2 foot of water and is not climbing! what is going on and does anyone know enough about homestead wells to tell us how to fix it? this well is 20 feet in the ground and lined with sandstone, looks like it has been drilled, has a plug in the bottom and an old drill head? This has never been a problem before and we have had more moisture this winter than any beforehand. My poor plants this summer! ah!
