Hi, recently I purchased a Yamaha audio receiver (RX-V365) and Energy Take Classic 5.1 speakers. I have my computer and my tv in my room. I use my computer to output music from my sound card with a 3.5mm to RCA converter thing. And then I output DVI to my tv with my video card. The problem is that I have an xbox 360 hooked up to the tv with HDMI and the tv's speakers aren't that great. So what I did was output the TV audio and input it into the line in on my sound card. The 360 audio comes in really loud though so I have to set the line in level really close to 0. The main problem though is that when I'm playing games there will be some really gross cracks and pops in the audio during loud parts in the games (like big explosions). I'm not very experienced with audio stuff, but I have worked with sound boards and it seems to me like there is just too much gain coming in to the PC. Any other theories? And does anyone have any solutions? Oh, yeah and MS is stupid and the 360 doesn't have any built in audio level controllers and my TV can't reduce the output levels either.
ps the music works fine, even at super loud levels
Oh and I have tried outputting the audio to the receiver, but I want to be able to hear music and xbox games at the same time, and I don't think my receiver is capable of that (outputting 2 inputs simultaneously). There is a multi ch input but that wouldn't work cause i want 5.1 for each, and there would be no bass.
