Home Stereo Speakers buzz constantly- even when stereo turned off- no other sound?

The stereo was fine one day, came home and now it buzzes- constantly. Even when its turned off. It doesn't get louder or softer with volume adjustment- its just a constant, fairly loud buzzing. No other sound will go through them- cd player, radio, aux input. Tried unplugging power, plugged back in. Unplugged aux input, no change. unplugged speakers no change. Help?

The volume control could be the issue.....you'd either have to clean the volume control or replace it with a new one.
