I have had a flick through the Y/A search engine and found quite a few topics in regards to this very matter.
Summarising the information I've seen I'm surprised; surprised that most of these questions have firstly been posted in the "Home Schooling" section automatically placing biased opinions on the answers and also how people are claiming it to be better for your education. Whilst the latter could be true, I believe that it could also turn out to be very false.
Now, I am not against home schooling; however, I do attend a public school and I can tell you a few things about it:
- It's definitely safe and if any person were to threaten or violate someone there would certainly be severe consequences
- The teachers are qualified in their own fields of teaching and their subject
Personally, I feel much more comfortable socialising and attending public school because from what I see the education is much better here than I would receive at home and the school caters for every pupil, whether or not they have a special condition, illness or disability etc. we are a school community.
Nevertheless, maybe I am just fortunate to attend such a school therefore I can sympathise with other people who feel the local schooling isn't up to standard; this however is just the unlucky pick of students who attend the school and by no means is it the teacher's fault.
Anyway, I'll quite babbling. I'd just like some opinions to be honest.
Thanks.
