Hello all , I am home after my ALIF surgery and in lots of pain.. I was in the hospital for 4 days (seemed like a long foggy dream) , surgery went well - it was 4 hrs long and my doctor is convinced that they got me fixed this time.

The pain is bad BUT not as bas as my last surgery , they went in posterioly the last time. I am going to take it one day at a time and take deep long breathes. Sorry but i can't type long , to much pain..

Billy Boy I am so glad:) to hear from you because I was wondering how you were doing. Glad to hear that the surgery went well and that the doctor thinks this will work this time. You take care and keep your pain under control, if possible, and just know that we are all thinking of you. My prayers are with you and I do understand if you don't come back on for awhile.

Love Ya

Hey Billy,
Good to hear from you. I hope the pain decreases soon and that you'll be able to tell if things seem better. Are you at your sister's house? I'm so glad you have such a supportive family! Let those kiRAB keep you positive! And when they make you laugh, use a little throw pillow to press down gently and firmly over your incision. It'll hurt less. For turning, coughing, and all that, too.

Take is easy and let yourself heal. Come back when you're able.

Hugs,
Emily

Hi Billy Boy! So sorry that I have not been around to support you with yet another surgery. I pray that this surgery is the answer to your pain and that you will get stronger and stronger as each day passes.

Hugs,
Pepper

Hey Billy - Hope you are feeling better soon! So this was just anterior? I may be headed for a posterior and anterior lurabar fusion (extending to L3) in a few months. I know the posterior part is painful but for anterior I've heard of two versions - one where people have large incisions and one where people have a series of smaller abdominal incisions.
