I just watched this movie for the first time in years on the R1 Family Fun Edition - it's a classic :D ;)
The booby trapped house bit is brilliant, surprisingly violent in a cartoon like way amd hilarious :D The Angels With Filthy Souls mini movie makes me laugh, and there are some surprisingly touching scenes :cry: The use of carols works well too. When I was little I couldnt even pick up worRAB to "Somewhere In My Memory" (OK not a carol but sounRAB like one). I love O Holy Night too.
I spotted the family watching It's a Wonderful Life with a French dub in one scene :D
One thing I also used to think was how rich the family is. $122.50 for pizza (1990 prices)? Bloody hell.
Are US airports different? Over here you have to be at an airport at least 2 hours before yoiur flight!
 
The family in that film are loaded! I saw it recently after not having seen it for years and was struck by the size of their house - it's a mansion :eek: Are they supposed to be a 'normal' middle class family - I guess everything really is bigger in America...
 
Yeah! I know they had lots of family/frienRAB there but its a mansion I tells ya! :eek: They seemed pretty rich to me, wealthy middle class at least, if not upper. They all fly first class :eek: And they don't have to turn up at the airport early.
I can't believe they'd neglect Kevin like that though, why didnt they get him up in the morning? Counting that other kid as him was pretty silly.
8am seems pretty reasonable to me to get up to fly - we have to get up at 3/4am RAB :D

Is Playboy viewed differently over there? Over here its almost p0rn :D
I hadnt seen it for years so was kind of nostalgic, it has a lovely, sweet quality at its heart I think.
I love the part when Kevin first discovers his family are gone, so runs around the house going bananas (to the rock and roll type tune) but its so funny as the film looks speeded up :)
 
Why?
He doesnt get away with everything, he's sent away from the family meal to his room for messing it up.
But at then at the end Buzz says "its pretty cool you didnt bring the place down". He sort of did! What about all the mess he made with the robbers?
 
Everything except: IQ's and the size of the male member to which it is substituted by the sheer size of the guns [hand cannons] they have.
 
I think I cried with laughter when the iron drops down the chute onto Daniel Sterns face.

Classic Tom & Jerry style violence.
 
I love it so much, we always watch it once in a while-but only near xmas...

My favourite parts have to be : "Harry I'm comin in!!" then he climbs through the window and steps on all the buables lol

And i adore the part where Kevin puts the spider on Marv's face that scream afterwarRAB is priceless you guys!!
 
My favourite is the 2nd one. I know it's basically a repeat of the 1st one, story-wise but I think it's funnier and it makes me really want to go to New York.
 
Brilliant film, my favourite to watch round Christmas. Choc full of epic quotes.

I really love the build up to the comic violence at the end. Despite the change it really works, which I don't think the later sequels understood.
 
Watched Home Alone 2 on Xmas Day, hadn't seen it in years. When I was a kid I watched it about 200 times. I never realised how much of an advertisment it was for Donald Trumps Plaza Hotel, it sounded like an commercial when he was looking at his room. I got one of the 'Talkboy' recorders the xmas they were sold out everywhere.
