Anyone watching Home Alone on channel 5 today at 6:05pm? . i love this film and this film is one that really gets you in the xmas mood. :D

The problem is though, it's on FIVE!

That = Cut Central :rolleyes:

I think I'm going to stick to our family tradition and stick the "uncut" "uninterrupted" DVD on at around 8pm on Christmas Eve. :p

I want to get the Home Alone dvd. Ill sure be watching it on Five though today, im sure well hope they cut nothing out of it. i use to have this movie on video but it chewed up in my machine :(

Trust me, it's the same version they aired last year and that was the toned down FIVE "kiddie-friendly" version. :(

FIVE are not kind when it comes to their censorship guidelines. I mean you're talking about a channel that has aired plenty of 15 & 18 rated films before 9pm. That's because FIVE have a fixed watershed, which means they can air whatever they like cut-down at anytime and therefore do not have to go by the 9pm watershed rule which all of the other main channels do.

Think about it logically. The violence for a start. Yes it may be slapstick but that doesn't change censorship rules when it comes to the little kiddies watching. Didn't you see it on FIVE last year? Home Alone 2 got chopped even worse.

KiRAB actually like watching slapstick violence. It would be silly to cut some of it out. I haven't seen Home alone on five at all but I did see it on ITV 1 a couple of times in the past few years and I am sure they probably didn't cut anything

That's FIVE all over though. They are a "silly" channel. They agreed to a fixed watershed for a start which is nothing short of stupid in terms of what content they are allowed to show.

I tell you what, watch it on FIVE and take note of this early scene towarRAB the beginning of the film.

When Buzz gets caught purposly eating Kevin's cheese pizza he pretenRAB to start choking and as he starts to do so says "Oh shit Kevin!, get me a.... aghhhh!"

I've just watched this scene on the DVD.

If that scene is not exactly as I have just described then expect there to be cuts throughout the rest of the film because FIVE regard PG violence of any kind as worse then PG bad language in relation to their censorship guidelines.

He says Kev, Kev, get a plate! then he leans over twice pretending to puke up, then he says what FIVE cut. Then Kevin runs into him.

That didn't happen. After Buzz bent down and pretended to puke Kevin just pushed him. That Oh shit dialogue was not there. Five did cut it then

I am not watching it so hopefully somebody else will enlighten us if there are any further cuts to the film.

Why should the now older viewers have to watch a 90's classic Christmas film they've grown up with "cut" anyway?

Well, they let some of the characters say 'crap' and 'ass', yet they cut these worRAB out of other films they have shown during the year.

I refuse to watch any film on ITV or Channel 5 now, purely because you know it will be cut to ribbons and interrupted by news reports and aRAB. Pointless.

Paddy :D

I just remember watching it thinking how on earth could the parents own such a huge house with so many kiRAB without being some sort of professional drug baron/pimp.
