Holy mother of a fucked up dream....

Whenever I get a lot of sleep (like 10 hrs or more) I have really wierd dream(s). Well, today I went to sleep at three (the person I work for is on vacation) and I had a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy wierd one. I dreamt that I found myself in a place with tile floors, lots of lockers, and everything was blue cause those lights that give off faint blue light were all over the place. So this place was like a labyrinth, and there were rooms all over, and everybody was naked, dirty, and sad. Cause the people in charge there would have everybody fight for their food, clothing, and other privelages. Well one day I just got sick of it, and I asked if I could call home. They said okay, gave me a phone, and I called home. Packed up. And nobody came. Then I slit my throat and I actually felt like I was dying. Like I was chokeing on my own goddamn blood and I could taste it. Anybody else have a dream like this?

I find that when I sleep for a very long time I wake up with a stiffy... and that rolling over onto my stomach after sleeping for that long is a really bad idea.

As for the topic at hand...
You need to understand just how powerful the subconscious is. Over 80% of brainpower is subconscious, and if an extremely focused conscious thought can make your body believe something, just think of what the subconscious can do.

It can make your body believe it's dead...

When I was very young I had a dream that I got kicked around by a herd of deer. When I woke up I was in a lot of pain. The pain of course didn't last long. As soon as I realized it was a dream, the pain vanished.

Anyway, the point of all of this should be clear, but just in case: Dreams are rooted in your subconscious mind. The subconscious is powerful enough to convince your body that dreams are real. So it's not uncommon for people to wake up still experiencing the effects of the goings on in their dreams.

That's very fucking odd. Once I had a dream that I was drowning and woke up trying to catch my breath. That was very fucking scary so I can understand what you went through.

But I still think it's very cool that the sub conscience can do that shit.

Think about how it made you feel and see if anything else in your life makes you feel that way.

Sometimes I'll have weird dreams then realize they were simply inspired by some random thought I had during the day before, just my mind ran with it in my sleep.

My best deams are all during short 2-3 hour naps, though.

I had a dream last night that I was choking, then I woke up and puked on the floor next to my bed.

So, If you say that your thoughts, or dreams, can make your body feel like it is going through that actuall conflict; can you have a dream of death, and actually die? Thought I would just strike up a conversation.

No you dont actually die, but you go into a strange state of almost hibernation and sleep paralysis.

Dying in your dreams is VERY rare and apparently you have to have major issues to actually experience it.

It's really interesting the stories that people ahve about it, but no you cant actually die from it, but you'll go into further more unconscious state*

* Supposedly. :redface:

I get a lot of those types of dreams too.. When I was littler, like 6-7 years old, I had a dream that my whole family was in this huge pit, dying, and I couldn't do nothing. I was crying in my sleep, and woke up crying as well. Immediately after I woke up, I looked out my bed room door, accross the hall, and saw my grandma sittin on the pot, pissin.. She asked what was wrong..

I remember that morning so well, and that dream continued to occur after that.

I also get in alot of fights in dreams and end up punching the wall or kicking it. It's quite fun, I always end up winning.

I once had a dream where I was spiderman. When I woke up I thought it was real so I tried to shoot webs but nothin happened :[

Then there were these dreams when I was little. Where they were so real to me I would run around the house screaming and yelling. It was kinda like blackouts, I could only remember parts of it, not much at all. Happened a few times. Creepy shit.

It's amazing how powerful the human brain is! So powerful, that when sleeping, it can create a situation that seems totally real! I haven't had any dreams for a long time, that I remember, but I do remember always being amazed that everything around me in my dream was like I was actually seeing it with my eyes! And feeling, smelling, tasting, all the senses.

When I think of that, I agree with this statement I heard a while ago: The human brain is the most powerful computer ever.

I don't have a dream to describe, but I do have another story, relating to the subconscious mind. A number of years ago, one of my brothers was disassembling his dirtbike clutch to change the discs, and I was helping him. We got everything changed, although I couldn't figure out how that clutch worked; the input and output were on the same side of the clutchpack, instead of on opposite sides like a car clutch.
Well, I went to bed without figuring it out, and then when I woke up in the morning, I knew exactly how it worked. I remember waking up and thinking "Hey, that's how that works!"

The brain is amazing!

I hate it when I goto sleep, and I have this stupid ass dream. Lets say I'm talking in this dream, I'll wake up just as I am finishing a sentence, and actaully say it aloud. It pisses me off because I cant remember what the whole sentence was, and what my dream was about.

I've had a dream when I tought I was drowning I couldnt get any air I paniced and when I woke up I lifted my head from the pillow and gasped for air (I had slept with my head down)

Lately I've woken up screaming to random nightmares(I've never done it before)
once someone caught me and was going to rape me.
Once some faceless humanbeing(although it wasnt human, it moved like a robot of some kind) tried to catch me, I woke up really scared.

Sometimes I wake and I'm really scared, I don't know why but my heart pumps really hard and I have to put on all lights and read or watch tv so I can fall asleep again.

One not so cool thing is when you fall asleep and you relax all youre muscles simoltauniously(sp?) so you feel like falling and when youre about to hit the ground you wake up.

Most fucked up dream I had was when I was in Africa. And I only dream when I sleep deeply, so like on a weekend. So I was walking back home from a party down a dark, dirt road, and then suddenly some faceless man comes up to me with a knife. He doesn't actually come close to me, but he says, really close to my ears, "Don't worry." But then this next part sounded much more emphasized, like when the music stops in a movie before someone speaks. He said: " I just want to kill you." And then I felt my throat slit, and I felt myself fall down, vision blurry going on red. And then I woke up, and I was scared shit-less.

Could that have been a prediction of my death? Before I woke up, for an instant I felt a sort of nothingness. Thank gods I'm not still in Africa.
We should start a fringe theory on this.
