Hollywood rewrites history again.

What would worry me is that the large sections of British youth would believe the spin since they know sod all about our history in the first place:(

sadly true.according to hollywood over the years, the americans beat rommel in egypt(in fact they were not even there) and won in places like burma(no US troops there either).the best bit is the yanks accused the russians of re-writing history!

To be honest in a lot of ways we are to blame if this country had a well managed film industry then we could have made a Battle of Britain movie. Can you imagine a huge movie telling the story of British piolets with actors such as Ewan McCregor, Jude Law and others with some one like Ridley Scott directing it.

I have always thought that if the government put money in to the film industry as sort of shareholder and should a movie make a lot of money some of it made could be put back to support the industry or if there was huge profit then some of it could even go in to other government projects such as the hospitals.

I'm not a patriotic man but that is just so dispespectful!

It's like saying Martin Luther King was white. .....give them twenty years or so, they'll probably do that too.

Maybe when we're all too old to be taken seriously they'll make a film about the Iraq war, in which the WMD acually exist.

F*****g wankers.

I really hope that Michael Mann sticks to the direction rather than having anything to do with the slant the US is putting on it.

Most of his films are excellent - The Keep, Heat, Manhunter etc. But this will taint my respect for the guy if true.

Yeah and they made out the President of the US, a drunken bum, a nerd and a fighter pilot saved the world from that alien attack a few years back.

Oh, hold on a sec...

Funny how this and U-571 were such contentious subjects, yet no-one cared about other similar pictures that deform history in other countries...hmm....
